There's nothing like drawing skeletons when you should be doing real work. 

Ive got Prague plans on my mind. Bone churches and cemeteries, it's gonna be such a goth holiday.

My brother is visiting for a few weeks from Australia today and I've just found out a friend is coming back in a few months from travels.

I'm excited for all these things and not very good at being patient!

Really want to get back in the screen printing rooms!
Ive got so many plans/ideas for prints.

Every week that I plan to go in after work, I'm always too busy.
I love having work to do and I should've expected this, going up to full time.. but still.. gah!
Screenprinting room, I shall be with you next week!

A Library of Owls

Here's one idea for the library conference group logo, made up in colour.

I changed the chosen design slightly (ha! 'slightly')

I drew it out with the owl spying through the book like in the original design, but then you couldn't really tell it was an owl...

So I'll make up the original chosen design in colour as well.

Jackalope party

My designs had to have some tweaking to make them more letterpress friendly.
So here they are!
I actually like the first one more like this, but the other one I really preferred in black..
The black areas would have become too muddy in a letterpress print.

This would actually be really fun as colouring in paper for kids!

Im also back to a strict money budget due to poverty.
Its doesn't help I've just spent a small fortune at the supermarket.
My plan is to spend nothing until Friday, when I'm going for a meal with all the lovely library folk.

Letterpress Jackalopes

I was recently asked by Art Directors Global if I wanted to contribute an illustration to be made into a letterpress print for an expo in New York.

Of course I said yes and ended up making 2 designs..

My jackalope illustration got so much love last time, I was really glad of an excuse to make it again.

There's going to be live hand-cranked letterpress prints being made during the exhibition, sounds awesome.

Wish I could attend.

I thought, as its a design to be printed it would be cool if the illustration could be repeated.

It's been one week since I turned veggie!

In other news - Im going to Prague for 5 days! Its not till the 1st of June but I'm already busy planning things (probably too many things)
Definately want to visit Kutna Hora and the bone church and the Sedlec Ossuary!

Emperor Menu Boards

Spent all of Saturday and last night re-painting and then writing out new menu boards for the Emperor pub.

I'll take some better pictures soon and upload them..

I'm still undecided about what I want to do with my future! I have several ideas, one of them is the Children's book MA in Cambridge..

Finished this painting last night.

Quite pleased with this one and its reminded me how much I enjoy painting everything from scratch.

Trying to decide how I want this one to look. Think I'll just sketch it out, start painting and just see what happens.

Gonna try for a combination of the two somehow!

So this evening I sat down to draw out some type.

And after some procrastination and doodling I started drawing horses.

Which is funny because they fit quite well into the quote I was trying to illustrate.

Easter weekend has been pretty awesome!

My Dad & Stepmum visited and I got to show off some of the sites of Cambridge.

So nice to see them (lots of delicious food aswell, thankyou!)

Yesterday I went for a walk round Fen Drayton Lakes near St Ives then saw Mama at the cinema. 

Been so busy that Ive only drawn in one page of my sketchbook..

Pretty different as I only had an old fashioned pencil and some ink.
